History

My first mudding experience was in kingdom's mud for a short period of time during 1992. In the autumn 1995 I was introduced to BatMud by Continuity, though it took him some nagging before I really gave it a go. About the same time Demerzel and Yornh also started playing, though Yornh left because he got too addicted to tobacco! I was beginning to get a grip of the game and was slowly advancing when disaster stroke: The horrible conversion that came to last for almost one year. During that year many people went to play Zombiemud, but instead I found my way to the Norwegian Vikingmud.

In late 1996 BatMud came back and I began playing again. This was absolutely my best mudding days where me, Malitrius, Ior and Demerzel were raiding the newbie areas. We played much during the Christmas break from a cellar using monochrome terminals with a 486 as a server. There was some competition about who would sit at the server, since that person would always have his loot trigger ticking in first! Partying was also a bit difficult, since Ior left to hunt bulls whenever there were a few minutes of idling, and Malitrius constantly tried to get us to go to the newbie mines. When we were lucky we could get Torpid the ranger to build us fires, and sometimes even our big buddies Geten and Maribor could come and give us some help! I managed to build myself a pretty descent eq-set and I had my best reinc as a barsoomian. Then a second disaster struck as I lost my eq to bad links.

I now had a smashing 3M of exp and ~70% explore but no eq, so I got to think about wizzing. Back in the days you needed to go through the imp-maze and train/study immortality in order to become a wizard. It took me 7 tries (a record) and one month before I finally was successful.
