The sects are available to all martial artists of BatMUD, those being the Warrior Brotherhood and the Brotherhood of the Black Tiger. Currently there are three sects available. One of them is exclusive for monks, one is exclusively for tigers and one is accessible by both guilds. The sects teach new martial arts skills that were not previously available. Different sects have all strengths and weaknesses, and they are not necessarily better than the other sects.
To join a sect, you must first find the sect's master. The master will then teach you the skills of the sect. You can only be a member of one sect at a time, but you can switch between them. In order to find a sect, you can ask from your fellow players, or NPC characters that are known to be associated with your own guild.
